Injection Solution

COMPOSITION:
Each 1 ml contains:
Methionine ………………………………………………. 200 mg

INDICATIONS:
Considered as substitutional therapy of diseases involving liver such as: Parturient paresis, Primary liver diseases, Secondary liver damage after infections or intoxications.

DESCRIPTION:
Methionine is a fundamental supplier of sulfur which prevents disorders of the hair, skin and nails, reduces liver fat and protects the kidneys.
A natural chelating agent for heavy metals, regulates the formation of ammonia and reduces bladder irritation, and promotes hair growth.
Methionine protects against the toxic effects of hepatoxins (acetaminophen).
Methionine has also antioxidant activity.
L-Methionine correlates with the metabolism of acetaminophen.
In case of inability cells to growth the addition of amino acid methionine stimulates cell proliferation normally as being a precursor of homocysteine.
Methionine absorbed in the lumen of small intestine into the enterocytes by active transport process.
It dissolves in body fluid and pass to the liver, the higher concentration in tissue intracellular pool.
Methionine is a water-soluble amino acid so that it not stored in body and should be taken daily.
Routes of amino acid excretion is via feces and urines.

SIDE EFFECTS:
No undesirable effects are to be expected when the prescribed dosage regimen is followed.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
(Intravenously, intramuscular, subcutaneous or orally) in small animals.
Cattle: 50 – 100 mL
Small ruminants: 20 mL
Horses: 50 mL
Dogs: up to 10 mL
If necessary, repeat at intervals of 6 – 24 hours.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
Cattle, Small ruminants: Meat: 0 Day  Milk: 0 Day

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Do not administer to animals with severe liver, kidney or pancreatic disease.
Do not administer to animals with acidosis due to conditions like diabetes mellitus or urinary infection.

Keep it in in original pack, Store in a dry, dark place below 25°C.
