200 mg **Description:** Enrofloxacin belongs to the quinolone group and acts as an antibacterial agent effective against Gram-negative bacteria such as *Campylobacter*, *Escherichia coli* (E.
coli), *Haemophilus*, *Mycoplasma*, *Pasteurella*, and *Salmonella*.
It is a synthetic, broad-spectrum antimicrobial, bactericidal, and effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria as well as mycoplasma.
It is used in turkeys, broilers, breeder chickens, and replacement chickens for treating respiratory and digestive diseases of bacterial or mycoplasmal origin, such as pasteurellosis, colibacillosis, mycoplasma infections, and salmonellosis, with clinical experience, supported by sensitivity tests where possible, indicating enrofloxacin as the preferred choice.
**Indications:** Fluoroquinolone.
Used for the treatment and control of chronic respiratory diseases in poultry, colibacillosis, erysipelas, pasteurellosis, salmonellosis, staphylococcosis, swine dysentery, enzootic pneumonia, colibacillosis in cattle, and mastitis.
**Contraindications:** – Do not use for preventive purposes.
– Do not use when resistance or cross-resistance to (fluoro)quinolones is known.
– Do not use in cases of known hypersensitivity to the active ingredient.
**Side Effects:** Due to the harmful effect of enrofloxacin on joints, care should be taken not to exceed the recommended dose and duration of treatment.
Gastrointestinal disturbances may occur in calves.
**Dosage:** – **Calves:** The dosage rate is 2.5 mg enrofloxacin per kg of body weight (1.25 ml per 50 kg) daily for 3 days.
This dose may be doubled to 5 mg per kg (2.5 ml per 50 kg) for 5 days for the treatment of salmonellosis and complicated respiratory diseases.
Treated solutions should be prepared daily and administered immediately.
– **Sheep and Goats:** 5 mg enrofloxacin per kg of body weight (0.5 ml per 10 kg) orally, diluted in water, daily for 3-5 days.
– **Poultry:** 10 mg enrofloxacin per kg of body weight (0.1 ml per kg) orally, diluted in water, daily for 3-5 days.
**Withdrawal Period:** – **Calves, Sheep, and Goats:** Meat: 10 days.
– **Chickens:** Meat: 10 days.
– **Eggs:** Not for use in laying hens producing eggs for human consumption.
– Not for use in exotic animals intended for human consumption.
**Storage:** Store in a closed container below 25°C.
