ANTIBIOTIC POWDER
FOR ORAL ADMINISTRATION

COMPOSITION:
Each 1 gm contains:
Doxycycline hyclate 500 mg

INDICATIONS:
Doxycycline Hyclate is bacteriostatic and antibacterial and belongs to the group of tetracyclines.
Its action mechanism is based on its ability to chain the hypounit 30S of ribosomes, resulting in the inhibition of m-RNA synthesis from t-RNA.
Tetracyclines have the ability to prevent protein synthesis in the internal structure of the cell.
Doxycycline Hyclate is used for treatment of infections in calves and poultry caused by micro-organisms sensitive to doxycycline, especially infections of the respiratory system.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not administer to animals with known hypersensitivity to tetracyclines (where doxycycline belongs).

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
The environmental temperature and the state of health of the animals affect the quantity of potable water that is consumed by animals.
The concentration of the added substance at the potable water level should be adjusted accordingly, so that the animals receive the recommended dosage.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
Meat: Calves, kids, and lambs: 14 days.
Poultry: 7 days.
Egg: Do not use in layers producing eggs for human consumption.

INTERACTION WITH OTHER MEDICINAL PRODUCT:
Simultaneous administration with antibacterial substances such as penicillins and cephalosporins should be avoided.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Calves, Kids, and Lambs (before rumination):
Generally, it is administered at a dosage of 10 mg doxycycline per kg of body weight, daily.
The treatment lasts 35 days. The general dose is divided (according to the number of meals) and diluted into the milk. It is administered as 2.5 g of DOXINE 500 per 50 kg of body weight, daily.

Poultry:
Generally, it is administered at a dosage of 25 mg of doxycycline per kg of body weight, daily, after diluting it into the water. The treatment lasts 35 days.
After diluting the product into potable water, the final solution remains stable for 24 hours at a temperature of 1525°C. After diluting the product into the milk, the solution should be immediately consumed.
