INDICATIONS:
Propylene Glycol used For the prevention and treatment of ketosis in dairy cattle and pregnancy toxaemia in sheep.
Provides propionate as a ‘direct’ source of energy to the animal. Can be mixed with Hyfat and molasses to provide a starter drench for cattle. Has a mild stimulant effect that can help boost energy and encourage a cow to start eating again.

DESCRIPTION:
Propylene Glycol provides propionate as a direct source of energy to the animal. MPG can help prevent and treat ketosis during late pregnancy and early lactation.
Propylene Glycol is very palatable, and up to 10% in feed is acceptable to dairy cows.
Propylene glycol does not destroy rumen micro-organisms or leave undesirable residues after oxidation.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not use when resistance / cross-resistance is known to occur. Do not use in the case of known hypersensitivity to the active substance.
When administering propylene glycol to cows suffering from liver failure, nefarits or metritus, consult your veterinarian.

SIDE EFFECTS:
No side effects observed if not exceeding the recommended dose.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
Cattle, sheep and goat: Meat: 0 Days. Milk: 0 Days.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Mixed with feed or as a drench
Prevention:
• Cattle: 175 – 225 ml daily.
Begin 2 weeks prior to calving and continue for 6 weeks after calving.
• Sheep: 50 – 100 ml daily.
Begin 4 weeks prior to lambing and continue until lambing.

Treatment:
• Cattle: 200-400ml daily, dependant upon severity. Administer for 10 days.
• Sheep: 75-125 ml daily, dependant upon severity. Administer for 10 days.
If no improvement is noted a few days after initiation of treatment, diagnosis should be reconsidered. Consult the veterinarian if deterioration of the clinical state is noticed.
