WATER SOLUBLE POWDER

COMPOSITION:
Each 1 gm contains:
Spectinomycin 444.7 mg
Lincomycin 222 mg
INDICATIONS:
Gastrointestinal and respiratory infections caused by lincomycin and spectinomycin sensitive micro-organisms, like Campylobacter, E. coli, Mycoplasma, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Treponema spp., in calves, lambs, kids, poultry, and turkeys.
The combination of lincomycin and spectinomycin acts additively and in some cases synergistically.
Spectinomycin acts bacteriostatic or bactericidal, depending on the dose, against mainly Gram-negative bacteria like Campylobacter, E. coli, Mycoplasma, and Salmonella spp.
Lincomycin acts bacteriostatic against mainly Gram-positive bacteria like Mycoplasma, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Treponema spp.
Cross-resistance of lincomycin with macrolides can occur.
SIDE EFFECTS:
In the event of overdose in pigs, a change in the consistency of the faeces (soft faeces and/or diarrhoea) may be observed.
In chickens treated at several times the recommended dose, enlargement of the caecum and abnormal caecum content was observed.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
For oral administration:
Calves, Lambs and Kids: 1.50 g per 100 kg body weight for 5 days.
Poultry: 150 g per 200 L drinking water for 57 days.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
Calves, Lambs and Kids: Meat: 14 days.
Poultry: Meat: 5 days.
Egg: Do not administer for layers producing eggs for human consumption.
