500 mg **Indications:** Ampicillin is a broad-spectrum, semi-synthetic derivative of penicillin effective against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria with a bactericidal effect.
It is acid-stable and well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, making it suitable for administration in drinking water to control systemic infections.
It is recommended for the prevention and/or treatment of infections affecting the gastrointestinal, respiratory, or urinary systems caused by microorganisms sensitive to ampicillin, such as *Staphylococcus spp.*, *Streptococcus spp.*, *Klebsiella spp.*, *Clostridium spp.*, *Shigella spp.*, *Proteus spp.*, *Pasteurella spp.*, and *E.
coli*.
**Dosage and Administration:** For oral use in drinking water.
– **Poultry:** The recommended dose is 200 grams per 1000 liters of drinking water, continuously for 5-7 days.
Ensure no untreated water is given during the treatment period.
Medicated water should be used within 4 hours of preparation.
**Drug Interactions:** Do not administer concurrently with bacteriostatic antibiotics.
**Side Effects:** Gastrointestinal disturbances are rare.
**Contraindications:** – Known hypersensitivity to ampicillin.
– Do not administer to animals with known penicillin hypersensitivity or those with impaired renal function or active microbial digestion.
**Special Precautions for the Person Administering the Product:** It is recommended to determine the sensitivity of the causative organisms before starting treatment.
Dosage may need adjustment to reflect water consumption in the flock or herd.
Do not administer concurrently with bacteriostatic antibiotics.
**Withdrawal Period:** – **Poultry:** Meat: 4 days, Eggs: 15 days.
