200 mg **Indications:** Gentamicin is a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic widely used to treat Gram-negative and some Gram-positive organisms.
Laboratory tests have shown it to be effective against: – *Salmonella arizonae* – *Enterobacter aerogenes* – *Escherichia coli* – *Klebsiella* species – *Neisseria* – Most *Proteus* species – Some *Pasteurella multocida* species – *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* – *Salmonella* – *Serratia marcescens* – *Shigella* – *Staphylococcus* species – Some *Streptococcus* species **Contraindications:** The drug should not be administered to animals with known hypersensitivity to tetracyclines (gentamicin belongs to this group).
**Special Precautions:** Discontinue administration if individual sensitivity to the components of the drug increases or if allergic reactions occur.
Perform desensitization treatment if necessary.
Overdose symptoms: hearing disorders and vestibular effects.
**Drug Interactions:** Concurrent administration with antibacterial agents such as penicillins and cephalosporins should be avoided.
**For Veterinary Use Only.** **Administration and Dosage:** Gentamicin powder is administered orally in drinking water at the following daily doses: – **Calves:** On the first day – 5 g of the drug per 200 kg of body weight, divided into two doses 12 hours apart; for the following days (2-4) – 4 g of the drug per 100 kg of body weight once daily.
– **Young Poultry** (broilers, chicks, turkey poults from the first days of life): Mix gentamicin powder with water at a rate of 5 g of the product per 200 liters of water for 5-7 days.
Throughout the entire treatment period, young poultry should only receive water containing gentamicin powder.
For all types of animals, a fresh solution of the drug should be prepared daily, and the powder must be completely dissolved in the water.
**Withdrawal Period:** – **Meat:** – Calves, Lambs, and Kids: 14 days.
– Poultry: 10 days.
