ANTIBIOTIC POWDER
FOR ORAL ADMINISTRATION

COMPOSITION :
Each 1 gm contains :
Doxycycline hyclate 200 mg

INDICATIONS:
Doxycycline Hyclate is bacteriostatic and antibacterial and belongs to the group of tetracyclines.
Its action mechanism is based on her ability to enchain the hyposunit 30S of ribosomes, with result to inhibit the synthesis of m-RNA from T-RNA.
Tetracyclines have the ability to prevent the proteinic synthesis in the internal of the cellule.
Doxycycline Hyclate used for treatment for infections at calves, and poultry caused by micro-organisms sensitives at doxycycline and especially infections of respiratory system.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not administer to animals with know hypersensitivity at tetracyclines (where belongs doxycycline).

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
The environmental temperature and the state of health of the animals affect the quantity of the potable water that is consumed by animals.
The concentration of the added substance at the potable water should be adjusted accordingly, so as to the animals to receive the recommended dosage.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
Meat: Calves, Kids and lambs: 14 days
Poultry: 7 days
Egg: Poultry: Do not use in layers providing eggs for human consumption.

INTERACTION WITH OTHER MEDICINAL PRODUCT:
Simultaneous administration with antibacterial substances as penicillins and kephalosporines should be avoided.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Calves, Sheep and Goat (before rumination): 5 g of VETDOX 200 per 50 kg daily.
Generally, it is administered dosage of 10 mg doxycycline per kg daily. The treatment lasts 35 days.
The general dose is divided (according the number of the meals) and diluted into the milk.
Poultry: Generally, it is administered dosage of 25 mg of doxycycline per kg of body weight daily after diluting it into the water.
The treatment lasts 35 days.
After diluting the product into the potable water the final solution remains stable for 24 hours at temperature room (15°25°C).
After diluting the product into the milk, the solution should be immediately consumed.
